Nudge and Rulla: Sustainable Choice and Good Mood.

If you are big on eco-friendly and sustainable products, this post is for you! We are featuring Nudge today! ^_^ Helsinki is actually a really eco-friendly city; Finns regard sustainability as a non-negotiable way of life and Nudge and Rulla is the best evidence that Finns do actively practice what they preach.

Yet--I wouldn't call Nudge a brand or a store--Nudge really is a way of life. The whole existence of this store signifies the possibility of living in style without compromising sustainability and ethics. We should have more stores like this everywhere in the world! Nudge offers a lovely curation of positive, nature-friendly products.

Nudge is a one-stop cozy area which houses trendy and ecological fashion wear and accessories for men, women and children. They have offerings which range from interior decoration and natural cosmetics. Also in store is a cafe named "Rulla", which has really fresh food! (More on that later).

A lunch-promotion for Rulla.

Upon entering the store, you will be greeted by a cozy interior!

First up is Kure Bazaar.

"What's the big deal about this brand?"--You might ponder.

Well--85% of Kure Bazaar's nail polish is of natural origins, based on wheat, cotton, wood pulp, potatoes and corn. How cool is that?! In spite of its ingredients sounding almost edible, the finish is smooth, and the quality is really good! Colour vibrancy and range is also not compromised, and you can be assured that you are not putting anything toxic on your pretty nails. Highly ethical and recommendable.

The quest to beautiful nails need not come at a hefty price-tag!

Nudge also sells Løv Organic tea, which I tried later at the cafe. The løv teas are of extremely high quality and smells uber great! "Løv" means "leaf" in Norwegian, and Løv Organic epitomises the virtue of living a fast-paced, modern life with a continued respect for the environment. From tea leaves to the gorgeous eco-friendly packaging, you know you are løv-ed!

Next we have this really cute brand--Aarrekid Collection.

My sister just gave birth to a handsome young boy recently, and I was so damn tempted to buy everything here.

I always love how Finnish designs are so true to nature. Anyway, Aarrekid (I still cannot pronounce the "rrrr") is a Finnish home-grown children's brand started in 2009. Then unique selling point of this brand is in the child-play's element: Aarrekid champions a story in each and every one of its garment. Designs sing of stories from outer space, cute owls, and mystical forests. Apart from the soft, ethical, high-quality and eco-friendly material, all dyes used on the garments are also non-toxic! You never have to worry about your rashes or scratches on your child's skin due to allergies again!

Such a cute playhouse!

Personally I like the story of the octopus, sprinkled with candy colours. The whole brand comes across as whimsical and imaginative.

They have TOMS here too!

Another owl design. I felt this was really pretty!
Then you have pretty designs from MOIMOI and exquisite carved crafts.

I really heart made-in-Finland MOIMOI bags. I'm really particular about the bags I buy, and this range is just really lovely!

Tohono Jewellery. All hand-made!

Pasila is a place in Helsinki, and it is also a Finnish cartoon comedy.

This reminds me of the Japanese JR train stations. Donkihote actually has something of the same concept, with names of major JR train stations. And they sell like hotcakes, for some reason--either to younger folks who buy the JR train station stop of their schools, or houses.

OK right now I feel that I have to gush about Kotona Design! They have really cool stuffs for your house--from furniture to whiteboards. Kotona means "home". And the material used was leftover wood from this carpenter's office that the designer collected from. Something that was once considered as unsightly and junk-like was transformed into such classy and useful decorations for the house! ^-^

Kotona designs is indeed very playful! It's easily my favourite brand in Nudge. :)

These are magnets, which are simple-looking but would definitely instantly glam up your house for a Nordic feel!
White markers.
Wood magnets. Simple and elegant.
.Look at the end result! Isn't it gorgeous?

Nudge also sells this series of lamps. Really cute and monster-like!

I saw this book Fok.It. and Fok.It. 2 and Fok It 4. Damn hilarious.

Mifuko is also a very interesting movement and brand championing fair trade ideals. Highly humanitarian.

There are also bags hanging from the ceilings!

After so much shopping, you must be hungry. Now let's move on to talk about Rulla--the Vietnamese-inspired, creative restaurant side to Nudge!

When I was ordering my organic tea, the customer in front of me was ordering Vietnamese rice rolls with really fresh prawns! I was so tempted to order that too if not for the fact that I was so full.

Anyway, they lined the seats with mushroom pillows. How creative! :)

I think just sitting at this restaurant-- sipping your fresh organic tea and admiring the view outside the window--is priceless. THIS IS LIFE!

It's such a relaxing experience!

Okay! That's all folks for today! I really enjoyed my visit at Nudge--it was pretty much like an adventure! I strongly recommend everyone to visit. ^_^ Yes, sustainability and good mood are both really conscious choices, so let's live in an environmentally friendly manner today!

Like them on Facebook, or visit them at Yrjönkatu 30, Helsinki.
